The Adventure of BEing You

August 08, 20255 min read

Let’s BEgin August with a bit of adventure, maybe an exploration, or even begin a new journey.

Summer is not over yet!

We still have golden evenings, barefoot moments, pool days, and ice cream cones on the porch. There’s time. Time to wander, to laugh a little louder, to throw caution to the wind and do something spontaneous!

August reminds us to make the most of it. To seek adventure  in the world and in ourselves.

But what if the greatest adventure isn’t out there? What if the real adventure is the journey back to yourself?

These past few months, I’ve been doing some deep inner work, quietly, privately, intentionally.  It has been a journey of stepping out of my comfort zone, not with a plane ticket or a packed bag, but by facing what I’d been pushing down for a long time.

The Grief.

The Sadness.

The imperfections I thought I had to hide.

The beliefs I didn’t even know I was still carrying.

I used to think those feelings had to be “handled”, fixed or packed away neatly in a box.  But the truth is, we have to feel the feels.  We have to allow space for the hard stuff if we want to experience the real, rich BEauty of this life!

These past few months have taken me on a journey I didn’t expect, not out into the world, but deep within myself.

I’ve had to face some tough truths. I’ve had to feel some big emotions.
And I’ll be honest… I’ve been a
messy, crying, angry, hopeless puddle more than once. (And no, I’m definitely not a pretty crier. 😅)

But through it all, I’ve realized something that changed everything:

You don’t have to be fully healed to be whole.
You don’t have to be perfect to support others.
You just have to be
real.

And real means vulnerable.
It means BEcoming.
It means BElieving in yourself, even on the days when doubt whispers the loudest.
It means sitting with your pain without letting it define you.
It means choosing to keep your heart open, even when it feels easier to shut it all down.

THE POWER OF SUPPORT

If I have learned anything during this, it's that we can't do it alone!  I wouldn’t have made it through without my support system:

  • My Coach - someone to hold space for me and help me sort through the noise

  • My amazing team - who will show up with love and vision

  • My family and friends - who remind me who I am when I forget

  • My doctor -  who sees me, listens, and cares for all of me

  • And most importantly, my husband -  who stood by my side, gave me space, and allowed me to move through my healing at my own pace… even when things came up that involved him directly

It has been hard. And it’s BEEN HEALING. And through it all, I’ve come to this truth:

This journey isn’t about BEing flawless. It’s about choosing yourself, day after day, in big and small ways.

WHY AM I SHARING THIS?

I am sharing this journey with you because I want you to know that if you’ve ever felt messy, emotional, uncertain or broken lately, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Nothing about your feelings make you less worthy of joy, adventure, or the life you deeply crave.

If anything, your willingness to feel…. TRULY FEEL…. means your heart is wide open to transformation.

And that… that is where the BEauty lives.

LIFE IS NOT A DESTINATION!

IT’S A DAILY, MESSY, MAGICAL JOURNEY!

THIS MONTH’S INVITATION: STEP INTO SOMETHING NEW

So here is my invitation, to you and myself:

Let August BE a month of exploration. Not just of places, but possibilities.

Try something new. Say Yes to the things you’ve been putting off.                        Allow yourself to BE seen, not just when you’re polished and perfect, but when you’re real and raw and BEautifully unfinished!

Here is a few things to try on:

  • Say Yes to the mirror: look at yourself with love, really look, whisper something KIND

  • Say yes to rest: let yourself nap, or sit in stillness, read a book

  • Say yes to creating:  journal, paint, play an instrument, not for perfection, but just to play

  • Say yes to movement:  dance in the kitchen, walk on a new path, allow your body to BE free

  • Say yes to sharing your story:  whether it’s sharing something you need to  with a trusted friend, or maybe it’s a post online, show up, BE seen

  • Say yes to boundaries:  cancel plans, change your mind, put your peace first

  • Say yes to asking for support: Call a coach, reach out to your support system

  • Say yes to joy: let yourself laugh too loud, smile for no reason, and soak in the BEauty around you

  • Say yes to the version of you who is growing, healing, BEcoming. Even if she's not “there” yet

BEcause today is all we really have

We don’t get to rewind. We don’t get too fast forward. But we DO GET TO show up, right here, in the middle of this chapter, fully alive.

And that is the real gift!

Whether you’re adventuring across the country or simply across your own comfort zone, remember this:

Everyday is a gift.

Every day is sacred.

Every emotion has wisdom.

Every moment is a chance to BEgin again.

This is your journey.  This is the BEauty.  This is the adventure of BEing You.
